Ways to volunteer
Our volunteers are the reason children get to play, learn and feel welcome. Most give two to four hours a month.
Play leader
Run games, sport and art at our partner sites.
Tutor
Help children with reading, math and English after school.
Driver and events
Move toys and supplies, and help at drives and events.
Professional
Counselors, nurses, coaches, photographers and designers who give their skills.
Before you start
- Volunteers of every age who are able to help are welcome.
- Anyone under 16 volunteers alongside a parent or guardian.
- For anyone under 18, a parent or guardian completes the application.
- A short child safety training covering privacy and consent.
- About two hours a month.

Volunteer questions
Can young people volunteer?
Yes. Volunteers of any age who are able to help are welcome. Anyone under 16 volunteers alongside a parent or guardian, and a parent or guardian completes the application for anyone under 18.
Do I need experience?
No. We train every volunteer. Professionals are welcome to use their skills.
Can groups volunteer?
Yes. Companies, schools and teams can book a group day at drives and events.
Do I need to speak another language?
No, but if you speak Spanish, Dari, Pashto, Arabic, Ukrainian or another language families speak, tell us. It helps a lot.
