Healing Hearts is a play based emotional support program for refugee children in the Los Angeles area. Children who have fled war and persecution often carry fear and loss they cannot put into words. Through games, art and storytelling in small groups, they learn to name what they feel, practice calm and rebuild trust.
What happens in Healing Hearts
Children meet in small, steady groups with the same caring adults each time, because predictability is itself a source of safety. Sessions mix play, drawing and storytelling with simple calming skills children can use at school and at home. Children who need more support are connected with professional care.
Who it helps
Refugee and asylum seeking children of all ages, from toddlers to teenagers, and the families who care for them.
