Strong Bodies makes sure refugee children have the food and basic health support they need to grow and to concentrate in school. Families starting over often face months of uncertainty, and children feel it first. We provide healthy food at our sessions, health support from volunteer doctors and nutritionists, and help families find health care in their community.
What happens in Strong Bodies
Every program session includes healthy food. We help families understand where to find local health care, school meals and community food resources, and we connect them with services in their language where we can.
Who it helps
Refugee children of all ages and their families, especially in their first months in Los Angeles.
